
Depression doubles during June 2020
The office of national statistics released figures yesterday from the Opinions and Lifestyle Survey. These figures showed that almost 1 in 5 individuals experienced some form of depression in June 2020 during the pandemic almost doubling from around 1 in 10 before the pandemic (July 2019 to March 2020). The survey also showed how symptoms of depression have changed since before the pandemic.

Sophie Corlett, Director of External Relations at Mind responded to the report expressing that as we come out of lockdown and as some of the emergency measures put in place are coming to an end even more individuals may fall through the cracks.
