Create Art 4 Hope are launching their second limited edition curated art collection to coincide with this year’s virtual Deepbridge Chester Arts Fair running from Nov 13th - Dec 13th, with funds raised benefiting Maggie’s Merseyside.
Create Art 4 Hope was launched by the Visual Artists Association at the start of lockdown 2020 to raise funds for mental health charities and to show how art can raise hope and highlight beauty in uncertain times, bringing people together. Bringing joy to people in times of uncertainty, through creativity, helping to build new relationships, strengthen existing ones and help express our shared identity through art.
Funds are raised by individuals making a donation no matter how small for a limited-edition curated art collection. Everyone who donates to #CreateArt4Hope 2nd collection will receive a limited edition collection of prints from ceramic artist Jacob Chan, painters Andrew Alan Johnson and Frances Ackland-Snow and pencil drawing artist Samantha Messias.
Maggie’s Merseyside is situated in the grounds of Clatterbridge Cancer Care Centre, Maggie’s offers a free ‘more than medicine’ service for people living with cancer, as well as their family and friends. With emotional support through group and one-to-one counselling sessions being one of their key initiatives.
The funds raised from this new collection will support the ‘Million for Maggie’s’ campaign, galvanising support across the region to ensure that everyone living with cancer is able to access the psychological and expert support they need to have the best quality of life possible.
Laura O’Hare, Director of the Appeal commented “Mental health is so important especially to individuals and families going through the difficult process of living with cancer. Maggie’s supports the individuals and families through this and we are so pleased to be able to help through the gift of art”.
